We think spring has finally sprung and it makes us very happy.  We are so glad to see the sun shining and the gloomy rainy days gone.  We love the fresh new green grass and all of the beautiful flowers.  We can even see the ducks wandering about the area and the birds singing so happily.  It makes us want to go outside and enjoy the day!

Recycling has become a daily part of the Peppermint routine.  We feel that it is important to teach our young students this act of kindness.  Each classroom has a recycle box for paper scraps.  With the cooperation of EvUCC member, Mr. John Klueter, we are able to send our “waste” to the recycling center.  Thank you Mr. Klueter for all of your help and muscles.  We know sometimes our container is very heavy and overflowing!!  It makes us feel good that we are helping our environment.  We also save Tab Tops!  We are donating them to the Ronald McDonald Houses of St. Louis, MO.  All of our tabs will be transported to the “TAB TOP PANDEMONIUM” in May.  This year Cash’s Scrap Metal of St. Louis will be matching all donations!  We are anxious to see how much all of our tabs weigh.  We also help our environment by not using styrofoam products.  The cups that we use daily for snack at Peppermint are paper.  This kindness helps when you consider that styrofoam is something that sits in landfills for a very long time.  We had been collecting milk jug lids for a bench, but unfortunately, since we are not a public school, Madison County would not allow us to be in that program.  We sent the lids on to the public school.  We hope you will keep saving tab tops for us.  We also save BEST CHOICE UPC’s, Labels for Education which includes Campbell ’s, Swanson & Pepperidge Farm products.  We certainly appreciate your support of our school.
