Summer Sunday School
Summer Sunday School started June 6 with a
full room of children and teachers prepared for a great time.
The children made scrolls and learned a Bible verse while playing a
game followed by a snack. Each Sunday in June the children can
join in on the fun after children's time at the 9:30 service.
The Sunday's of July 4 and July 18 (VBS Program) will be Family
Worship services but there will be Sunday school on July 11 and 25th
with more fun activities planned!

Vacation Bible School
The VBS Praise Party was enjoyed by an average
of 62 enthusiastic students each day and also by the 20 volunteer
leaders and helpers. At our Praise Party we worshiped God with our
head, heart, hands, feet and souls. The children learned Bible
stories about how the Hebrews sacrificed and used their hands to
create a place of worship for God. They also learned like Paul and
Silas did in prison, to lift their hearts in prayer and song, no
matter what is going on in life. We recorded the children singing so
that each child received their own CD with CD holder that they made
in crafts.
Our offering of $209.72 was sent to a local mission, H.I.S. K.I.D.S.,
Inc., the non-profit Christian ministry that works with children who
have serious and terminal diseases such as cancer. Each day the
students created fantastic crafts, played energetic games, had
snacks, and used movement and song to celebrate and worship God.
Our Praise Party ended with a high celebration held at the 9:30
worship service on July 18. The children and Pastor Will presented
several songs worshipping God using our Head, Heart, Hands, Feet and
Soul. Thank you to everyone who helped in any way in making
this Vacation Bible School a success and a real Praise Party!!
Nursery Care Team
Our Nursery Coordinator, Gayle
Joyner, is asking you if you'd like to help be part of the Nursery
Care Team! Helpers on the Team rotate each month so you're
never missing too much Sunday morning worship! If you're
interested, contact Gayle.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
We will be working on sleeping
mats for the homeless and are in need of plastic grocery bags and
plastic newspaper sleeves. Please bring donations to the church
office. Thank you!
Join us when you can! Yarn
will be provided. Interested people should contact Gayle
Joyner. All skill levels are welcome, even beginners who
are willing to learn.

How
to Sing Along and Enjoy It!
If you sit in the pews on
Sunday mornings, baffled by the hymns and praise songs, here is an
opportunity to take the mystery out of it. Beginning August 4,
Lisa Neal will provide some navigational tools to help you feel more
comfortable singing along. Topics addressed will be: the parts
of a hymnal, reading a hymn (notes, words and symbols), following
new praise songs, and basic singing technique. No one will
have to sing by themselves. This group will meet each
Wednesday in August from 7:00 - 8:00pm.
EvUCC T-Shirts
If you ordered a t-shirt for
the parade and did not pick it up, please contact Barb Sussenbach.
Schweizerfest

Thank you to all of the people
and groups who helped put the EvUCC float together, pulled together
costumes, walked, rode, etc. Special thank you's to Steve
Clayton for constructing Mr. Potato Head, Marla Baer and family for
making the Etch-a-Sketch, blocks, Legos, Mr. Potato Head parts, etc,
Paula Redman for whipping up some last minute costumes, Jeremy
Fenton for standing in the Mr. Potato Head costume in extreme heat
both nights, Paul Tucker and Bob Nagel for putting together the
sound system, Don Rinderer for the trailer and storing the trailer,
Will and the Youth Groups for painting the Potato parts and
decorating the float wit the hands and feet of God and the list goes
on and on! So many people involved and that's what makes it so
much fun and such a huge success! Also special thanks to Jay
Boulanger and Spengel Boulanger Funeral Home for donating the candy
thrown during the parade.
HOLY COW!! Our church
booth at the Schweizerfest also did well this year considering the
weather. The Holy Cow Floats were a success, once again.
We would like to thank everyone who helped in any way with the
booth. Working together, we ALL made it a success!

23rd Annual
Talents & Treasures Auction
Sunday, November 7, 2010
The Auction Committee is back
in full swing planning this year's Auction! We are always
looking for additional committee members, so please consider joining
us. It really is fun and rewarding! We can also use a
few people to help make phone calls to local businesses. You
would not have to come to the meetings. We just need people
that can make calls during the day to follow-up on the letter we
send asking for donations.
If you are interested in either of the above, have any questions or
suggestions, please contact Marla
Baer, Brad Grohmann,
or the church office.
Thanks!
Remember - we also love getting donations from our members!!!
DuBois
Camp Scholarships Available
Would you like to send your
child to DuBois church camp this summer? Did you know that
EvUCC offers a scholarship to all DuBois campers who are members of
EvUCC? It's true! There's only one catch: you need
to give the church office a copy of your child's camp application so
we can submit the payment to DuBois. Click here
to view DuBois Summer Camp schedules.
Help World
Hunger

Play a fun
vocabulary game! For each answer you get right, 20 grains of
rice will be donated through the UN World Food Program to help
end hunger!
